When we founded our first school over twelve years ago, we asked, “If we were to create a school from scratch for our own children, what would it look like?” From that question, we created our core values that drive everything we do and stand for.
At the heart of our values is an unrelenting belief that every single student, regardless of his or her family circumstance or background, is capable of going to and succeeding in a four-year college. At Summit, we’re not just teaching academic knowledge, but we’re also cultivating strong character and life skills, ones they’ll need to thrive in our ever-changing world.
To prepare our students for success in a college and career, our teachers inspire, engage, and deeply care for our students. They develop deep, meaningful relationships and ensure that each student is personally supported and known. Our students also learn in diverse environments, mirroring the communities they will interact with as adults where people from varying perspectives and backgrounds collaborate together.
Throughout the organization, we have a strong culture of innovation that strives to better serve our students and parents. We have an intense focus on research and data to improve our understanding of what works and what doesn’t.
From our first school in 2003, we have grown to a network of seven successful schools throughout the Bay Area in California and will be opening up two schools in Washington (Seattle and Tacoma) in fall 2015. We hope to see you at one of our schools soon.
